a) Analyze Jeremy Anderson's speech and collect criteria that make it a successful one.

 


Think about the following aspects:

  • Introduction:
    • What makes a good opener for a speech?
    • How does Jeremy Anderson  engage the audience's interest?
    • What could be added to the introduction of a speech that is not included in Jeremy Anderson's?
  • Main Part:
    • Consider ethos, logos and pathos.
  • Conclusion:
    • What is important when concluding a speech?
    • How can you make sure that the audience remembers your main point?
    • What could be added to the conclusion of a speech that is not included in Jeremy Anderson's?

 

b) Discuss your criteria with a partner.
c) Create an assessment grid for a speech together in the collaborative document.

 

d) Get together with another team.
e) Discuss your assessment grids and combine them into one as a group.

 

f) Present your assessment grids to the class.
g) Agree on one set as a class. Save it in the collaborative document - class result.
