Task 1


a) Decide: Are you willing to change your lifestyle to change the climate? Do the survey.
b) Read the following texts:

c) Rank the texts: Which one is more convincing?
d) Copy and paste the texts into a word processor. Label the paragraphs with "introduction", "main part", and "conclusion".
e) Locate "claim" and "explanation" in the introduction.
f) Locate examples and evidence in the text.
g) Identify the argument types. Assess how convincing the arguments are. Give reasons.
h) Check your results with the solution.


Task 2


a) Do the vocabulary exercise.
b) Take a screenshot to save it.

 

Task 3


a) Comment on why you agree OR disagree with the following statement: "We need stricter laws to tackle climate change." Write between 700 and 1000 characters. Use the connectives from the vocabulary exercise. Support your arguments with evidence.


b) Exchange your comment with a partner. 

  • Assess strengths and weaknesses of each other's comment.
  • Give each other feedback. Make suggestions how to improve it.


c) Revise your comment based on the suggestions. Hand in the final result here.
