Feedback Matters: Grow with Feedback!
You have seen in the introductory quiz with the quote by Bill Gates that 'We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we improve.' But it is also important (not only) according to Buddha that the 'words we utter should be chosen with care, for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.'
Therefore, it is crucial to understand how to give and receive feedback and to set up certain guidelines.
Work with a partner
- Research online for information about advantages of feedback, giving feedback, taking feedback, and general feedback rules. Take notes.- Develop a position paper which
- Clearly describes the advantages of feedback.
- Addresses possible counterarguments (stating why feedback is unnecessary or a bad idea).
- Ends with brief advice for feedback takers and givers.
Once finished, copy the notes and position paper to your journal.
