  • Does the introduction give the opinion ("We need stricter laws" OR "We should not introduce stricter laws")?
  • Does each argument paragraph begin with a connective (firstly, first of all, moreover, furthermore, …).
  • Is each argument supported with evidence (research, a study, statistics, a report by a recognized authority/institution)?
  • Does the conclusion begin with a connective (all in all, in conclusion,…)?
  • Does the conclusion summarize the main points?
  • Are the arguments relatable (examples)?
  • Are spelling and grammar correct?
  • Is the word choice appropriate and variable?
